Investigation Launched After Discovery of 8-Year-Old's Body on Navajo Nation The unsettling case surrounding the death of 8-year-old Maleeka “Mollie” Boone has drawn the attention of both local and federal authorities in the Navajo Nation. Boone was reported missing in the Coalmine community, prompting an urgent response from law enforcement agencies following her disappearance. On Thursday evening, Boone was last seen playing near the Coalmine Navajo Housing Authority around 6 p.m. When she did not return home, her family became concerned, as it was unusual for her to be absent for such a lengthy period. This prompted her loved ones to seek assistance from authorities. Early Friday morning, the Arizona Department of Public Safety issued a Turquoise Alert, indicating that Boone's circumstances were considered suspicious. By Friday afternoon, the grim news from the FBI confirmed that Boone’s body had been recovered in the neighboring Coalmine area. However, as of the latest information available on Monday, details regarding the cause of death have not been released, nor have there been any arrests related to the case. A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to assist with funeral expenses for Maleeka "Mollie" Boone, who was found deceased in the Coalmine community on January 16, 2026. In remembrance of Boone
